The F.A.N.S, Protéges of Super Producer Boi-1da Dominate Soundtrack Beat Battle
Production Duo Wins Competition; Builds Catalog Aimed for Top Artists
(Nashville, TN) – February 1, 2011 – This past Saturday, Club Limelight saw music makers, The F.A.N.S., beat the competition in the Soundtrack Beat Battle landing them a $500 cash prize and a production kit from Big Fish Audio. The production duo will advance to the Grand Prize Battle to be held later this summer where they will compete for $1000 cash, a feature in EQ Magazine, a pitch meeting with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, and the opportunity to produce, record and shoot a music video with hip-hop artist MIMS.
Comprised of producers Ducko McFli & SykSense, The F.A.N.S. were the runner-up in last year’s grand finale and came back to show and prove that they have what it takes to be top contenders. After a tough showdown in the final round, it was decided by celebrity judges multi-platinum Atlanta producer Nitti, Def Jam A&R Shaun Beastley, and recording artist Kia Shine that The F.A.N.S. were undeniably the best. “We just had to win it. We were so close last year. They couldn’t tell us no,” said Ducko McFli. With this kind of determination, The F.A.N.S. are gearing up to make some major moves in the music industry in 2011.
Nashville-based The F.A.N.S are now signed under a production deal with Boi-1da Productions, an imprint of producer Boi-1da, who produced “Not Afraid” for rapper Eminem and “Over,” “Best I Ever Had,” and others for rapper Drake. Though runner-up in last year’s battle, Boi-1da saw their burgeoning talent and immediately signed Ducko & SykSense to a production deal.
They are currently working on material that has been submitted for Lil Wayne’s upcoming album, “Carter IV” album, Drake’s upcoming album “Take Care,” as well as 50 Cent’s forthcoming project. The duo also has plans to work with R&B group Jagged Edge and rapper Diego Cash, the younger brother of TV/Radio personality La La.
